Amy Smart is a former American model and actor. Born in California USA, Amy Smart began her modelling career there. Her first acting role was in 1996's TV movie Her Costly Affair. The actress struggled for the role she wanted on Starship Troopers. Amy had a difficult time making the transition from modeling to acting, as models aren't usually thought of as good actors. Models are often only given minor and unimportant parts. Amy didn't give up, and ultimately she was offered bigger roles in films Varsity Blues and The 70s. Amy was then promoted to lead roles in the romantic comedy Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy became famous for her work in the last 10 years. Amy was in several big movies within the Crank trilogy with Jason Statham. And she was also a regular character on The Shameless series.
